Serre Chevalier, French Alps, June 2014

Serre Chevalier, June 2014

We have just returned from a long weekend at Chalet les Marmottes, Serre Chevalier. Here are a few highlights:

Our wonderful mountain guides, Ben and Mike - with great knowledge and humour, we knew we were in safe hands.

Karin's lovely desserts and cakes - clafoutis, apple tart, Victoria sponge with homemade jam to name but a few.

Our epic 5 hour walk to the Refuge Bufferes in the Vallee de la Claree......how welcome was that cold beer and delicious lunch!

Squeezing in as much bridge as possible, right up to departure.

View of the glaciers of La Meije from the Jardin Alpin du Lautaret at 2100m altitude.

Carpets of flowers - wild daffodils, alpine clematis, orchids, gentians, azaleas......

Chili the dog leading the way, not tiring for a moment and always making sure we were all ok.

Surrounded by curious marmottes while we ate our tasty homemade olive cake on the Col du Lautaret.

We thought the area was beautiful and the house party atmosphere great fun. You both went out of your way to make sure everyone got the most out of the holiday and we enjoyed your company.

I am so glad I did the walk, the views and flowers were quite amazing.

Zeb, you were born to teach! We enjoyed the holiday very much.

Excellent choice to come here at this time of year – would be happy to repeat. Many Thanks.

Really enjoyed it as always – can't wait for the next holiday. Thank you both so much.

All round another successful trip. Many thanks for your efforts.

We would love to do another Stocken break some time and will sign up for one when there is a location/venue that appeals.

Thank you again so much for yet another fantastic holiday, I am getting addicted to them!!
