Palacete de Cazulas, Andalucia  April 2013

Palacete de Cazulas

We have had two lovely weeks in the Andalucian Mountains at the Palacete de Cazulas. Here are a few of my highlights:

The passion of the flamenco dancer, singers and players. What a fantastic atmosphere – certainly wouldn't want to cross her! Well done to all those who joined in, and especially those who dressed up for the occasion!

Zeb's duplicate sessions: great fun and intuitive too with invaluable analysis. Also loved the paella of bridge, where you could choose the topic

Marvelling at the splendid bridge room, high ceilings and grandeur: we couldn't ask for more

Super sweet freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast

The caves at Nerja were spectacular – surpassed all my expectations

Playing bridge under the wisteria-laden terrace overlooking the valley. A good idea in principle, though not so ideal for the cards when the wind got up! In fact playing bridge just outside the house proved to be the best spot

The wonderful dramatic drive to Granada and the incredible carvings in the Nasrid Palace of the Alhambra

The most beautiful garden with a surprise round every corner. First time I have seen oranges and lemons on the same tree

Preparation of the giant paella, cooked outside by Pepa and her sister

Sitting next to a different person every night: loved the company and bonhomie

Delicious tortilla, gazpacho and guacamole

Aperitifs on the terrace with JuanMan and the aptly-named Mike Jingle strumming their guitars

Prize-giving......who would imagine that you could win a prize for seeing a naked man!?

Hot sizzling chili prawns 'piri piri' at a beach-side restaurant at La Herradura: absolutely delicious and perfect for dunking bread in

The beautiful wild flowers alongside every mountain path

But for me the best thing about this holiday was seeing so many familiar and friendly faces returning, and meeting wonderful new people......see you next time!

We love the laid back and charming way you run the holidays. Thank you both for a wonderful week! It was great fun.

Thank you both for your tireless energy and good humour - it really was a lot of fun. The flamenco was a high point and it was great to visit the Alhambra again.

Everyone was very welcoming and friendly – thoroughly enjoyed myself. Thank you very much.

Very much enjoyed the experience and the help and assistance given by Claudia and Zeb!

It has been a lovely time for us all – many thanks for all your hard work and concern for welfare.

Great mixture of teaching, paella and duplicate. Friendly encouraging atmosphere maintained throughout. Wonderful.
