Stockbridge is officially England’s ‘smallest town’, the heart of fly fishing country with the River Test meandering through. Its wide high street was once a drover’s road where vast flocks of sheep used to pass through en route from Wales. The Grosvenor sits in pride of place in this pretty Georgian town surrounded by beautiful countryside. Traditional yet colourful, the hotel has been completely renovated to a very high standard by new owners, Simon and Teresa Henderson, with both the interiors and the fabulous courtyard garden designed by Lottie Keith.
The bedrooms each have a warm, individual character, the food is contemporary and fabulous with excellent reviews. Dogs are very welcome too. StockenBridge in Stockbridge – it’s meant to be.

Bedrooms
The Grosvenor has 31 bedrooms, 18 in the main building plus 13 garden rooms in the annex, one of which is the superb Hayloft Suite. Beautifully styled rooms feature bright modern fabrics, statement headboards, and pretty ceramics. All rooms have delightful en-suite bathrooms - most with showers, some with baths and some both. All rooms have king or super king-sized beds, except the single and 4-poster rooms.

Fine dining at The Grosvenor
Chef Viraj Athukorala came from Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden and is in- fluenced by French cuisine and fine dining. We will use two dining areas, the larger River Room and the Library, a private dining room for twelve. At breakfast, a round table groans with fresh fruits, creamy yoghurts and warm pastries; from the extensive cooked menu, order full English, fresh or smoked trout - and more!
