Early snow in Montgenevre - don't miss out!
Following our hugely successful week here in January 2016, we will be returning to the charming Alpine resort of Montgenevre for our second Bridge, ski and winter-walking holiday. Some of our regular guests thought it was the best StockenBridge holiday they had been on, with our own ‘Bridge Chalet’ where we play bridge next to an open fire and fully-stocked bar. A highlight was the excellent ski guiding and tuition with Philippe, helping guests improve technique and make the most of the ski conditions. The snowshoe excursions with Mike were also very much enjoyed enabling guests get into the heart of the mountains.

Hotel Le Chalet Blanc
The luxurious 4-star Hotel Le Chalet Blanc is Montgenevre's finest hotel, recently built in a modern chalet-style with warm wooden interiors and stylish and comfortable furnishings. It is set high in the French Alps (1860m) with breathtaking mountain views from every angle and being right on the slopes it is truly ski-out as well as ski-in.
With sumptuous leather chairs, overstuffed sofas with soft, plump cushions, and two huge open fireplaces - the bar and lounge area of Hotel le Chalet Blanc is the perfect place to unwind after a day’s activities. All the bedrooms have their own balconies and lovely en-suite bathrooms.
Skiing
Montgenevre is a pretty tree-lined French resort with a good snow record, part of the Milky Way ski area and directly linked with the ski resort of Claviere in Italy making it easy to ski over for a pasta lunch. You will be joined by experienced and english-speaking ESF ski instructor, Philippe, for 6 days' ski guiding to take you to the best ski areas and improve your technique. Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is simply walking on snow using lightweight plastic snowshoes attached to your walking boots. The extra surface area and grip stops you from sinking in deep snow and slipping backwards making it very easy to walk in these conditions. Snowshoeing is suitable for almost everyone, no matter what your age or fitness level. Accompanied by excellent walking guide, Mike Rollins, this is your chance to get out into the real back country and see nature first-hand. Click here to find out more about snowshoeing with Mike.
