2. Away with the clubs

Playing in a teams event recently, South opened 1♠ and rebid 2♠ over North’s 2♦. At one table North passed South’s rebid of 2♠ – not a pleasant contract. At the other, North bid 3♥, raised to 4♥ by South. Unfortunately, East led his singleton spade so away went two clubs; the second was ruffed but declarer now made his contract.
